If you need a break from the crazy and wild side of Cancun, take a short trip and experience the natural wild life at the Crococun Zoo! Located about 20 miles south from Cancun, this natural tropical forest not only accents the plant life of Mexico, but exhibits Mexico's inhabitants!
For a first hand view of this luscious terrain, make sure you inquire about a tour guide. Although it is not required to have a good time, the tour guide will give you first hand experiences, answer any questions, and best of all let you handle some of the animals!
Now it time to start your journey! You'll start down the main path where your guide will lead you through the sacred stopping grounds of the prehistoric crocodiles! From a friendly distance you'll be able to watch their unpredicatable personalities and how they interact with their own species. Following your guide, you'll continue your journey deeper in this exotic landscape with encounters of the neighboring monkeys, snakes, and other animal natives of the zoo! (Don't forget to ask your leader about the Mayan dog. This small animal feels like a pig, but its body shape is more like a toy dog.)
As your journey winds down, you can grab a cool drink or treat at the snack bar! You'll also want to stop by the souvenir shop where you can pick up nice keepsake. Oh yea, don't forget to douse your body in bug repellent before you get out of the car, because if not the souvenirs you pick up form the gift shop won't be the only collectibles you'll take home Crococun Zoo!
Hours are Sunday - Monday 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Children under 12 are free!
